Muse Elementary Raised $2,374.50 for the Frank Sarris Public Library in Canonsburg

Read Across America Poster

During Reading Across America Week (March 2-5) last year, Muse Elementary students collected $2,374.50 for the Frank Sarris Public Library in Canonsburg.  Due to the school closure and current events, they were not able to directly present them with the funds so they made the donation during WCCF (Washington County Community Foundation) Gives.  Attached is the poster that promoted the event and below are some photos of what students were supposed to wear each day. All of the following photos were taken before the pandemic's restrictions went into effect:

Monday - Donated pennies to dress like their favorite superheroes.

Tuesday - Donated nickels to dress as their favorite book character OR as the career they aspire to have.

Muse Elementary did participate in this event last year and actually presented Frank Sarris Public Library's Head Librarian Peggy Tseng and Mr. Phiakis with a "big check", but unfortunately they were unable to do that this year due to the pandemic's restrictions.

Congratulations to all involved on participating in this fantastic event and donating to a worthy cause!
