Lady Macs Win September 14 Game Against Baldwin 10-0

After 2.5 months of preparation, the team finally played their first game of the season...a game they were not sure would ever happen due to the pandemic. Section rival Baldwin was the visiting team, and the Lady Macs didn’t waste any time getting started with the scoring.

:28 seconds in, Sarah Powell collected a loose ball and scored the first goal of the season.

1 minute later off a flighted pass from Sami Snyder, Sarah Tonkovich scored the 2nd goal of the game and CM led 2-0.

5 minutes later, Powell scored her 2nd of her 2 goals for the game off an assist from goalkeeper Paige John. Paige was starting her first varsity game and collected her first varsity win and shutout with the help of the CM defense in front of her anchored by seniors Anna Serene and Nina Zonghetti.  

Other first half scorers were Lexi Twaddle, Maddy Orr and Emily Gross.

In all 22 Lady Macs saw 1st half action.

In the 2nd half, CM slowed the game down by working on possessional play, and other tactical scenarios. 3 goals were scored over the final 40 minutes...1 by Sami Snyder off a free kick, and Lexi Twaddle and Emily Gross with their 2nd goals on the night.

The Lady Macs started 9 seniors. In all, 22 players saw action.
